Female Diseases

Female health problems concerning the reproductive organs and its related parts in a female are termed as female diseases . Women of any age can contract these diseases but generally the trend is towards middle aged women suffering from these female diseases .

There are many endocrinal (hormonal) problems like thyroid which are mainly found in women. This results in certain biological changes such as Menstrual period, irregular periods, stoppage of menstrual flow or accompanied with pain, increased or decreased quantity of blood, backache during menstrual period, pain and heaviness on head, irritable or gloomy nature, loss of appetite. Now a days, these type of female health problems have become very common in almost all women irrespective of age. The main reason is due to Polycystic ovary syndrome. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common hormonal disorder that may be characterized by cysts or fibroids on the ovaries, excess androgen, infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods, infrequent or lack of ovulation, excess hair growth, acne or obesity. Many women with polycystic ovary syndrome are insulin resistant, which impairs the body's ability to effectively use insulin. Obesity can make insulin resistance worse. Weight loss can improve both insulin and androgen levels and may even restore ovulation. But one can get rid out of these female health problems through different kinds of yoga and asanas. By doing proper yoga and asanas one can reduce her weight and at the same time asana help to maintain a proper blood circulation of our body. For example, by doing Bhadrasana (Gentle posture) one can easily get rid out of this menstrual problem . Apart from this, by doing yoga and asanas one can improve and satisfy her sexual life. The female body is one of nature’s most wonderful and complex creations. It is the origin of all human life. A woman’s journey in life is punctuated by many milestones; childhood, puberty, matrimony, pregnancy, childbirth, motherhood. So to remain healthy and stay fit practice yoga and asana throughout life.

PCOD is a Hormonal imbalance and there is insulin resistance (high insulin could not enter into the cell to help glucose metabolism). Some doctors prescribe Metformin to correct this insulin resistance. This will also regularize the cycles. Most people use it for long time. Small doses will not harm. Benforce M is a lipid soluble thiamine or vitamin which is used in PCOS or Infertility as it prevents the glycation of products which cause aging and thus helps in regularizing cycles and conception.. Answer to the question- Insulin levels in PCOD patients are high. It is a chronic problem meaning it is life long problem. PCOD also leads to Infertility problems. So these medications are basic medicines used to control the cycles in the beginning."

Hypertension

Hypertension (HTN) or high blood pressure, sometimes called arterial hypertension, is a chronic medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is elevated.[1] This requires the heart to work harder than normal to circulate blood through the blood vessels. Blood pressure is summarised by two measurements, systolic and diastolic, which depend on whether the heart muscle is contracting (systole) or relaxed between beats (diastole) and equate to a maximum and minimum pressure, respectively. Normal blood pressure at rest is within the range of 100-140mmHg systolic (top reading) and 60-90mmHg diastolic (bottom reading). High blood pressure is said to be present if it is persistently at or above 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension is classified as either primary (essential) hypertension or secondary hypertension; about 90–95% of cases are categorized as "primary hypertension" which means high blood pressure with no obvious underlying medical cause.[2] The remaining 5–10% of cases (secondary hypertension) are caused by other conditions that affect the kidneys, arteries, heart or endocrine system. Hypertension is a major risk factor for stroke, myocardial infarction (heart attacks), heart failure, aneurysms of the arteries (e.g. aortic aneurysm), peripheral arterial disease and is a cause of chronic kidney disease. Even moderate elevation of arterial blood pressure is associated with a shortened life expectancy. Dietary and lifestyle changes can improve blood pressure control and decrease the risk of associated health complications, although drug treatment is often necessary in people for whom lifestyle changes prove ineffective or insufficient.

Stone Disease

Stone disease is when small masses of minerals from the urine build up somewhere in the urinary system.
There are three main types of stone disease:

  • Kidney stones
  • Ureteral stones

One who has above symptoms can consult Doctors as follow their suggestion/take medicine.

Allergy

An ALLERGY is an undesirable reactions produced by the normal immune system. Allergic reactions occur when a person's immune system reacts to normally harmless substances such as pollution, food, dust, milk etc. dust mites, molds, dander, and certain foods.

The body has an automatic reaction to what it sees as a threat and while in most people these substances suppose no problem, in those with allergies the immune system identifies them as a treat and produces an in appropriate response to them.

Allergies first start when cells in the immune system wrongly identified an everyday normally harmless, substance as an attacker.

Immune system then begins to produces a class of antibodies known as IGE, specific for that particular allergen, which will later alter the fighting cells within the immune system every time this substance is encountered.

An allergy can therefore cause anything from a runny nose, or itchy eyes and mouth, to skin rash gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal discomfort and vomiting. Severe allergies reactions are also known as an anaphylaxis.

In prolonged exposure to allergens the immune system also employs additional fighting cells to attack the invading substance. These release chemical substance that cause further discomfort to allergy suffers and increases the severity of their symptoms.

Types of Allergy

  • Wheat allergy
  • Milk allergy
  • Severe allergy and anaphylaxis.
  • Responding allergy.

  • Bronchitis
  • Adenoids
  • Sinusitis

Liver Disorders

Liver is the largest organ in body and it plays an essential role in turning food into energy, and removing poisons from the blood. It metabolizes nutrients that are absorbed by intestine, store nutrients, produce protein, detoxify blood, alcohol and potentially harmful chemicals from the blood stream and treating them chemically so, they can be excreted by digestive or urinary system.

Liver disorders are a collection of conditions, disease, and infections that affect the cells, structures, and tissues of the liver, causing liver damage or stops liver functioning altogether.

Types of Liver Disorder

  • Hepatitis
  • Cirrhorsis of liver
  • Liver tumours and liver abscess

SYMPTOMS & DIAGONSIS

Not all brain tumors cause symptoms, and some (such as tumors of the pituitary gland that cause no symptoms) are found mainly after death. The symptoms of brain tumors are numerous and not specific to brain tumors, meaning they can be caused by many other illnesses as well. The only way to know for sure what is causing the symptoms is to undergo diagnostic testing. Early symptoms may not occur; if they do, they occur for the following reasons and are listed below:

  • The symptoms are caused by the tumor pressing on or encroaching on other parts of the brain and keeping them from functioning normally.
  • Some symptoms are caused by swelling in the brain primarily caused by the tumor or its surrounding inflammation.
  • The symptoms of primary and metastatic brain cancers are similar in men, women, and children.

The following symptoms are most common:

  • Headache
  • Weakness
  • Clumsiness
  • Difficulty walking
  • Seizures

Other nonspecific symptoms and signs include the following:

  • Altered mental status: changes in concentration, memory, attention, or alertness
  • Nausea, vomiting: especially early in the morning
  • Abnormalities in vision (for example, double vision, loss of peripheral vision)
  • Difficulty with speech,Gradual loss of movement or sensation in an arm or leg.
  • Gradual changes in intellectual or emotional capacity

In many people, the onset of these symptoms is very gradual and may be overlooked by both the person with the brain tumor and the person's family members, even for long time periods.

  • A new seizure in an adult.
  • Unsteadiness or imbalance, especially if it is associated with headache.
  • Loss of vision in one or both eyes, especially if the vision loss.

TREATMENT OF BRAIN TUMOUR

Please note that homeopathy can definitely treat brain tumours. In homeopathy there is nothing like specialization. We treat the patient as a whole and not by the diagnosis like the allopath.

HAIR LOSS

Hair loss, is not a life threatening, but can certainly significant effect on quality of life. Patients can experience additional stress from concern over hair loss which in turn can add to future hair loss. Numerous studies have illustrated the psychological impact of hair loss on adults as well as children.

SYMPTOMS & CAUSES OF HAIR LOSS

Hair loss can occur as thinning, in which it may not noticed hair falling out, or as shedding, in which clumps of hair fall out.

In the most common type of hair loss, inherited hair loss (androgenetic alopecia), men tend to lose hair on the front hairline and forehead and on top of the head. Eventually, only hair around the ears, the sides, and the back of the head remains. Women with this condition typically have gradual thinning throughout the scalp, but mostly on the top of the head.

Because hair is an important part of appearance, hair loss can also result in loss of self-esteem and feeling unattractive, especially in women and teens. The reasons for hair losses are as follows:

  • Genetic predisposition – family history of hair loss increases the risk.
  • Hormonal disorders – can also occur in the condition in which there is hormonal disturbances occurs in the body like hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism.
  • Skin diseases – skin diseases like psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis commonly causes hair loss.
  • Radiation therapy or chemotherapy – in certain diseases like cancer causes severe hair loss

  • Excessive combing – may cause hair loss from scalp.
  • Burns – burns anywhere in the skin causes loss of hair.
  • Menopauses – hair loss is very common in the menopausal age of women.
  • Other causes – mainly include high grade fever, major surgery, hemorrhage, certain drug intake, starvation, chemical exposure, renal dysfunction etc.

DIAGONSIS

It mainly include detailed medical history, full blood count, serum iron, renal function test, thyroid function test, liver function testy, microscopic examination of hair etc.

Arthritis

Arthritis is a form of joint disorder that involves inflammation of one or more joints. There are over 100 different forms of arthritis. The most common form, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), is a result of trauma to the joint, infection of the joint, or age. Other arthritis forms are rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and related autoimmune diseases. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection. The major complaint by individuals who have arthritis is joint pain. Pain is often a constant and may be localized to the joint affected. The pain from arthritis is due to inflammation that occurs around the joint, damage to the joint from disease, daily wear and tear of joint, muscle strains caused by forceful movements against stiff painful joints and fatigue.

Classification:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Gout and pseudo-gout
  • Septic arthritis
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
  • Still's disease

Signs and symptoms:

Regardless of the type of arthritis, the common symptoms for all arthritis disorders include varied levels of pain, swelling, joint stiffness, and sometimes a constant ache around the joint(s). Arthritic disorders like lupus and rheumatoid can also affect other organs in the body with a variety of symptoms.

  • Inability to use the hand or walk

CYST/TUMOUR

A CYST is a closed, sac-like structure that contains fluid, gas or semi-solid material and is not a normal part of the tissue, where it is located. Cysts are common and can occur anywhere in the body in people of any age.

CYSTS vary in size, some type can be detectable only under a microscope or other can grow so large they displace normal organs and tissues.

Piles/Haemmorrhoids

Hemorrhoids (US English) or haemorrhoids UK /ˈhɛmərɔɪdz/, are vascular structures in the anal canal which help with stool control. They become pathological or piles when swollen or inflamed. In their physiological state, they act as a cushion composed of arterio-venous channels and connective tissue. The symptoms of pathological hemorrhoids depend on the type present. Internal hemorrhoids usually present with painless rectal bleeding while external hemorrhoids may produce few symptoms or if thrombosed significant pain and swelling in the area of the anus. Many people incorrectly refer to any symptom occurring around the anal-rectal area as "hemorrhoids" and serious causes of the symptoms should be ruled out. While the exact cause of hemorrhoids remains unknown, a number of factors which increase intra-abdominal pressure, in particular constipation, are believed to play a role in their development. Initial treatment for mild to moderate disease consists of increasing fiber intake, oral fluids to maintain hydration, NSAIDs to help with the pain, and rest. A number of minor procedures may be performed if symptoms are severe or do not improve with conservative management. Surgery is reserved for those who fail to improve following these measures. Up to half of people may experience problems with hemorrhoids at some point in their life. Outcomes are usually good.

Signs and symptoms:

Internal and external hemorrhoids may present differently; however, many people may have a combination of the two. Bleeding significant enough to cause anemia is rare, and life threatening bleeding is even more uncommon. Many people feel embarrassed when facing the problem and frequently seek medical care only when the case is advanced.

INFERTILITY (BOTH MALE & FEMALE)

Infertility means not being able to get pregnant after one year of trying. Or, six months, if a woman is 35 or older. Women who can get pregnant but are unable to stay pregnant may also be infertile.

Infertility is not always a woman's problem. Both women and men can have problems that cause infertility. About one-third of infertility cases are caused by women's problems. Another one third of fertility problems are due to the man. The other cases are caused by a mixture of male and female problems or by unknown problems.

INFERTILITY IN MEN

In general INFERTILITY can be caused by a hormone problem or problem with the structure or function of male or female reproductive tract. Infertility in Men are caused by

  • A problem called varicocele (VAIR-ih-koh-seel). This happens when the veins on a man's testicle(s) are too large. This heats the testicles. The heat can affect the number or shape of the sperm.
  • Movement of the sperm. This may be caused by the shape of the sperm. Sometimes injuries or other damage to the reproductive system block the sperm.

A man's sperm can be changed by his overall health and lifestyle. Some things that may reduce the health or number of sperm include:

  • heavy alcohol use
  • drugs
  • environmental toxins, including pesticides and lead
  • smoking cigarettes
  • health problems such as mumps, serious conditions like kidney disease, or hormone problems
  • medicines
  • radiation treatment and chemotherapy for cancer
  • age

TREATMENT

Infertility in men can be treated with Doctor and with proper medicine. Patient can contact me either on my clinic or through tele-consultation form.

INFERTILITY IN WOMENS

Female infertility is caused by problems with ovulation. Without ovulation, there are no eggs to be fertilized. Some signs that a woman is not ovulating normally include irregular or absent menstrual periods.

Ovulation problems are often caused bypolycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a hormone imbalance problem which can interfere with normal ovulation. PCOS is the most common cause of female infertility. Primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) is another cause of ovulation problems. POI occurs when a woman's ovaries stop working normally before she is 40. POI is not the same as early menopause.

Less common causes of fertility problems in women include:

  • Blocked Fallopian tubes due to pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, or surgery for an ectopic pregnancy.
  • Physical problems with the uterus
  • Uterine fibroids, which are non-cancerous clumps of tissue and muscle on the walls of the uterus.

The reasons are likely to be

  • Damage to the fallopian tubes.
  • Ovulatory problems.
  • Endometriosis.
  • Conditions affecting the uterus
  • A combination of factors

In women, changes in the menstrual cycle and ovulation may be a symptom of diseases:

  • Abnormal period’s irregular periods
  • Irregular periods/no periods/ painful periods
  • Abnormal ovulation
  • Changes in sex drive and desire
  • Loss of hair
  • Weight gain
  • Skin changes, including more frequent acne
